~ ~ Mountains Majesty - The Chomolhari Trek ~ ~

This program includes the majestic Chomolhari Trek and sightseeing of the Paro, Thimphu, Punakha, Wangdi and Gantey Valleys. This is a superb trek for strong walkers offering glimpses of a wide variety of terrains and landscapes with the highest altitude about 16,050 feet. Beginning at Drukgyel Dzong, climbing gradually through farms and rice terraces, into meadows and low forests, and up beyond the treeline into a world of glaciers and rock. Campsites are in high alpine pastures where yak herders bring their shaggy herds to graze near pristine mountain lakes. It goes into northern Bhutan near the base of sacred Mount Chomolhari. There are fabulous views of the mountains and exceptional flora. You will encounter many yak-herders but few villages. This trek can be done from the end of April to November with the possibility of snow during these two months.

  • DAY 1 Arrival Paro. Afternoon sightseeing Paro.
  • DAY 2 Sightseeing of the Paro Valley.
  • DAY 3 Begin Trek
  • DAY 4-10 On Trek
  • DAY 11 Sightseeing in the Punakha and Wangdi Valleys.
  • DAY 12 Sightseeing in the Gantey Valley visiting the Gantey Gompa Monastery.
  • DAY 13 Thimphu Valley Sightseeing.
  • DAY 14 Morning free in Thimphu. Late afternoon departure for Paro.
  • DAY 15 Depart Paro.

Land Cost:

  • $3000.00 USD per person for 3 or more persons (April, May, September & October)
  • $3420.00 USD per person for 2 people (April, May, September & October)
  • Inquire about reduced rates for the months of June, July & August
